About
Briana Hodgson
Briana Hodgson brings something rare to orthopedic surgery: two decades of hands-on experience across nearly every subspecialty in the field. From level 2 trauma centers to foot and ankle surgery, she has seen and treated the full spectrum of orthopedic conditions — and patients feel that depth of experience the moment they meet her.
Briana was born and raised in upstate New York and received her degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. She began her career in orthopedic surgery at a level 2 trauma center in Baltimore, Maryland, where she worked in orthopedic trauma for nearly 10 years. She also worked in general orthopedic surgery for several years in Athens, Ohio, followed by foot and ankle orthopedic surgery in Plano, Texas.
Today, Briana works exclusively alongside Dr. Rahul Banerjee at Axis Orthopedic & Spine, where her clinical focus includes the treatment of fractures and injuries, total hip and knee arthroplasty, and the management of complex orthopedic problems. Her decade of trauma experience and her meticulous attention to post-operative care make her an essential part of every patient's journey from injury to recovery.
She is affiliated with Medical City Plano and Carrollton Regional Medical Center.
Outside the clinic, Briana enjoys jogging, biking, outdoor activities, home remodeling projects, and spending time with her family.

After a biking accident I learned I had broken my leg. The ER recommended Dr. Banerjee and called his office. I was transferred to the hospital, and the PA, Briana Hodgson, came to my room that same day. Surgery was within two days. He was very kind, compassionate, listened, and answered my questions. Three months later all is healing well and I am ready to begin the road to walking and get back to biking again, thanks to Dr. Banerjee and Briana Hodgson.
I would highly recommend Dr. Banerjee and Briana to anyone seeking orthopaedic care. He has a tremendous amount of experience and really listens to his patients and their needs. He is extremely attentive with tremendous bedside manner. The NTOS office was also great! Anyone with broken bones or dislocated joints, look no further!
I am 62 years old and an avid cyclist. I broke the neck of my left femur during a bike ride. I was back riding my bike and walking by Mid-May with little to no soreness. During my PT and continuing recovery Dr. Banerjee and his PA Briana Hodgson gave me excellent advice and support during bi-monthly follow-up visits. At this point I am at 100% on the bike.
I just wanted to thank Dr. Banerjee, Briana and the entire team for taking such great care of my 10-year-old with a fractured thumb. The entire staff had a warmth and kindness that immediately put my son (and me!) at ease. What really stood out was the genuine care they showed — treating my son with so much empathy and patience.
